BELLADONNA
Excitement;
wide eyes;
fast heart.
Temptation
in the face of
brightness.
Think before reaching out to grab attractive things.
What are you reaching for and why?
Some lessons can only be learnt once. No going back.
Do you really want what you are reaching out for?
Withdrawal can be wise, losing control is not always helpful.
Skill: Precision
Failing: Recklessness
Lesson: Mortality
“Limitless,
yet you are all
tied
to familiar habit.”
“Reality:
Sweet and deadly.
Illusion and dream:
Sweet and deadly.”
Belladonna, (Atropa belladonna, deadly nightshade), a powerfully seductive plant of the Solanaceae Family. All the nightshades contain the same main active ingredients in differing proportions. Belladonna has the highest levels of the heart stimulant atropine, easily fatal. Purple-brown bell- flowers become enticingly succulent shiny black berries, two or three of which can prove deadly. Associated with ‘witches’ herbs and with poisoners, it produces agitation, anaesthesia, characteristically frenzied and frighteningly horrific visions of demons and spirits.
