Sun Opener (Heimia salicifolia, ‘sinicuichi’), is a bush resembling a willow favouring the moist environments and streams of Central and South America. It bears large papery yellow flowers in late summer. The leaves are collected, rubbed and soaked in water to ferment. It creates a cooling of the body, relaxation and internalisation of experience that enhances memory of things from the distant past.
