ITALIAN ALDER ( Alnus cordata)
Key: Protected peace.
The Italian alder, originating from Corsica and southern Italy, is the largest member of the family. In the wild it grows in dense thickets on damp ground, but it is tolerant of dry soil and is now much planted in towns and roadside s. It grows rapidly, has a tall, domed shape with bright, dense foliage up to 80 feet (24 metres). The leaves are heart-shaped, the catkins much fatter and larger than the native alder and the cones are heavier and more elongated.
This tree brings peace, love and protection for delicate energies. It can be helpful when there is either shyness or over-aggression. It provides courage and healing where new beginnings are needed.
Italian alder balances the Governor and Heart meridians to strengthen self-esteem and the feeling of being supported. Thus, it is for those who feel useless, unworthy, not valued, lacking in support, and so on. The soul body is also cleared of imbalance s caused by guilt and this too, increases feelings of self-worth restoring energy to the physical being.
Peace and quiet enters the emotions restoring balance to the individual and the surroundings. It is able to heal emotional hurts and feelings of unworthiness and of being unloved.
At the finest levels of function Italian alder allows deep healing energies to enter from other dimensions. These are powerful protective levels of awareness that can neutralise polluting and aggressive vibration s.
Signature: The abundant upward growth and heart-shaped leaves.
Comment: Such an energy established in urban environments does much both at the physical and at subtle levels to cleanse the atmosphere. It is interesting to note that this tree has only begun to be planted in the last thirty years or so in Britain.
