MULBERRY (BLACK MULBERRY) – (Morus nigra)
Key: Wrath
A smallish, gnarled, rough looking tree with large heart-shaped leaves. In May it produces green male and female catkins, the latter which ripen into large, rich red fruit. Perhaps originating from the Middle East, mulberry was brought west by the Greeks and Romans. It has been grown in Britain since 1550. The Chinese variety is white mulberry upon which silkworms feed. Both species have medicinal properties: the leaves are used for colds, ‘flu, eye infections and nosebleeds; the branches fro rheumatic pain and hypertension; the root bark for coughs, asthma and bronchitis; the fruit for tinnitus and greying of hair.
Here there is emotional healing. Mulberry brings compassion, peace and a necessary detachment from the source of pain.
It works through the Spleen, Liver and Circulation-sex (Pericardium) meridians. It can be for those who decry any views that differ from their own and who will not see deeper truths, and for those who are jaded and cynical about the world – dominant, worldly-wise cynics.
For those attached to a painful situation or event and carry within them great remorse, Mulberry helps to heal the energy link and brings peace. There is freedom from past pain and remorse.
It changes the energy of anger towards more constructive ends where it can be mastered and fully expressed through understanding the truth of the underlying situation. It will allow full expression of feelings but helps to curb excessive wrathfulness.
The chakra at the solar plexus is activated to protect fine levels of emerging awareness and to manifest these in practical ways.
The mind is given a degree of energy that enables inspirational concepts and ideas to find creative expression – particularly when the ideas seem to be coming from beyond personal experience.
On a universal level this essence acts as a pathway to some of the superphysical consciousnesses of the solar system, the loving intelligence that directs and oversees the creative processes in each area of the physical cosmos.
