NORWAY MAPLE ( Acer platanoides)

Norway maple is a native in Europe apart from Britain and the Lowlands. It is a large deciduous tree with a short bole and a wide-domed crown reaching to 90ft. Bright green leaves are typically maple shaped and turn bright yellow in autumn. In spring, before the leaves, it produces a profusion of surprisingly bright yellow-green flowers in erect bunches. Introduced into Britain in 1683 Norway maple is now very common and easily self-seeds in sandy soil. It is also popular as a town tree, partly because of its rapid growth when young.
Primarily healing on emotional levels, this essence brings love, acceptance, healing and nurturing energy to states of emotional shock and trauma.
